I loved what I saw tonight, I’m not going to lie.

Oh, we didn’t play a great game. We were sloppy, we didn’t generate a ton of high quality scoring chances, and we got out possessed at many points of this game.

So why did I love what I saw?

We battled. We gutted through a game we *should* have won, and did so despite some really tired players and a backup goalie in the net against the reigning Vezina winner. How could you not love that?

It’s Torts hockey in a lot of ways, hold on, dig deep, score when you can, and win a game against a team despite being dead tired and in a very natural “let down” type scenario.

It’s not all rainbows and kittens though, I was absolutely disgusted with Benoit Pouliots game tonight. To be frank, if I were coaching this team, I would have sat him after the first period. He was just a black hole of awfulness on the ice dragging down his linemates with boneheaded passes, terrible effort level, and just flat out stupid hockey.

Pyatt got hurt, but it’s not a big deal, he’s not an important player to us, just need to get Dominic Moore back soon to help our lineup out.

Get some rest boys, you deserve it.
