Yes, that is me having a twitter war with Boomer Esiason. Yes, I think he is insane for calling Chris Kreider untouchable. Do I love Kreider? Yes. I actually have spoken directly with him several times. GREAT kid, great talent. But, Chris will likely turn out to be a 30/30 guy in the future. Rick Nash is that TODAY. I don’t want to trade Kreider, but I would have to think long and hard about Rick Nash. It’s not a no starter for me, though id rather give up more D prospects since we are deep there, but if it takes Kreider, Dubi, and a First…I’d have to think long and hard about it. Rangers have had how many cup runs in our lifetime? IMHO Nash could very well put them over the top.

One Response to “Twitter War”

What gets me is people look at numbers and say “got to get that guy”. There is no consideration as to whether or not the player fits in with the system the team wants to use.

Rick Nash is not a good fit with what John Tortorella uses. Another thing that gets me with Nash is everyone keeps saying how Columbus never found a center who could play with Nash but at what point does Nash deserve the blame for not fitting in?

And while you say you have talked with Kreider, no offense but Kreider does fit with what the NYR are trying to do. Kreider already has proven chemistry with Stepan but more importantly; Kreider was picked not because he is fast but rather because he fits what Tortorella wants to do.

You may not think Kreider is untouchable but those who have the final say appear to think otherwise.
