Usually I would just post the entire email he sent me, but this time there is some info there that might get him in trouble, so I will paraphrase here:

Rangers are interested in bringing in Kovalchuk, and will try to underpay Staal to fit him in under the cap. Sather and Messier are interested in Kovalchuk while others are more interested in Frolov.

Rangers also want to take a look at Kariya, Armstrong, Torres, and Coliaccovo.

According to my source McIlrath is thought of very highly, not just among the Rangers brass, but among most NHL teams. Rangers, and other teams, feel he may fall somewhere between a Scott Stevens on the upper end, and an Adam Foote on the lower end. That assessment comes from one of our rival organizations.

Personally, I hope to God this is true. Kovalchuk needs to be priority 1,2,3,4 and 5 for this team. We have nothing in the pipeline that can give us the scoring he can, and he costs us zero assets to bring in.

15 years, 95 million dollars. Do it.
