Shortly after listening to Steve and Eric’s latest podcast on the NYRangersCast site, I emailed Steve. I told him declaring the Montreal game as this years St. Louis game was not a great idea. There is a direct correlation between Steve declaring games as the turnaround for the season and Rangers playing poorly shortly there after. Steven, this one is all on you.

I know where you live, and you are going to pay…

Anyways, on to my post game thoughts…

Comeback - Kings@Rangers Second Period Thoughts…

If the Rangers play like that in the 3rd, theyll come back to win. They definitely played a much stronger game, getting pucks to the net (obviously), and getting guys to the front of the net. They simply elevated their play all across the board…except for their turnovers, which were still in abundance. They need to cut that crap out, keep doing what they were doing, and they’ll tie this up. The key is to not give up any more goals.

Btw, just for the record…Jason Strudwick sucked before this season, he sucked all during this season, and he will continue to suck as time moves on.

GET HIM OFF THE FREAKING TEAM!!!

A Hundred Miles Away - Kings@Rangers First Period Thoughts…

Allow me to share my pregame thoughts as seen on the HFBoards

im actually pretty worried about this game.

if you look at the rangers results the past few years, following winning streaks of any kind, they tend to lay an egg against teams they should beat. i dont think this game is going to be a cake walk at all…

Come on now. I now I am not the only person to expect this kind of a result. We have all seen it before. The Rangers win a few games against some really good teams, they think they have “arrived” and will trample a crappy Kings team by merely showing up. As we have seen time and time again, you don’t win games in the NHL by showing up. You win games by out working, and out smarting the other team. Rangers are sorely lacking in both.

Luckily some magnificent goaltending has kept them in this game, so they can come back, and quite easily, if they play like they did against the Habs in the second half of the game. It is still in their hands.
