When you see Jaromir Jagr unleash an absolute bullet of a wrister from a good 15-20 feet out, you know all his problems are mental. Nobody who is hurt badly is going to rifle a shot like that with pinpoint accuracy and an unreal level of velocity if they have shoulder problems. This makes me think whatever problems he has are all in his head. Seeing his “BFFL” Martin Straka out there regularly is probably why youre seeing an increase in his productivity, at least in this small sample size.
I felt the Rangers overall played a pretty good period. Once again Ranger Hater Mick McGeough made his presence well known calling 4 very questionable penalties in the first period alone. I really don’t see how you can give Orr a double minor, or let Simon get a free 4 punches in on Orr. How this guy is still in the NHL is beyond me. He and former NHL ref Craig Spada epitomize the hatred most Ranger fans have for biased refs.
