Ok, so I have had enough time to gather myself and make a post. Without a shadow of a doubt, Atlanta was rocking last night. The stadium was flat our deafening. The classy fans there that treated me with a ton of respect showed some excellent support for their team. As they should. The Thrashers are a good team folks. 1 goal wins for either team should be whats expected. Rangers got some bad luck goals scored against them, but managed to hold on for the win. Thats all that matters in the end right?

I did notice a few things. Jaromir Jagr has a presence out there. When he has the puck, the audience collectively holds their breath, similarly the way I feel when Marian Hossa or Ilya Kovalchuk get their hands on the puck. Jagr was a beast out there, and Marcel Hossas presence did have a LOT to do with that. Marcel won some key battles in the trenches that helped keep the puck in the zone. In fact I know for sure the Rangers forecheck was so awesome that at one time they had the puck in the zone for almost a full minute, had 1 guy stay in to continue to hold the puck, while 4, count em, 4 other guys changed, and they continued the assault, and if I’m not mistaken, a goal was scored on that shift (I dont remember which, things are starting to blur right now, perhaps it would have been better to write this last night, but you have NO idea how exhausted I was).

The D didn’t look all that terrible to me, although there were quite a few gaffes that cost us goals, they seemed to be very malleable, in that they were bending, not breaking.

Kari Lehtonen was off his game, big time. We really won this because of him. If he played well, I dont think we come out with the W. Still, a wins a win, and we need 3 more of them.

See you there Saturday!

LETS GO RANGERS!
