I’m not sure any impressions can be made from that first period of hockey.? While the Rangers certainly worked hard they had so many turnovers I actually lost count.? The problem I have with bashing the heck out of them for it is that the ice looks just awful out there.? Way worse than you ever see it at the Garden, which is REALLY saying something.? I saw at least 3 players fall over for no reason, that means the ice is like slush, which you cant really skate on.
I’d say the bulk of the period was dominated by the Lightning, they definitely have their legs in this one.? BTW, kudos to Aaron Ward on that bone crunching hit, its about time you saw a Ranger do something like that.
