Arrogance-Senators@Rangers First Period Thoughts…

Posted by inferno272 on January 11th, 2007

Its amazing how arrogant the Rangers are.? They think they can STILL trade chances with any team in the league and somehow win.? ? It baffles the mind that coming off of a horrendous loss against the? hated Islanders the Rangers still show no semblance of defensive zone commitment.? I saw? almost NO improvement in their defensive game from the last one till this one, they only seemed better in the offensive zone, controlling the puck more so it looked like a better period.

I am disgusted with this team.

Pissed….Off…-Islanders@Rangers Post Game Thoughts…

Posted by inferno272 on January 9th, 2007

This one is going to be short, because I dont want to spew off a string of curses.? ive seen a lot of disappointing, disheartening, and frustrating losses this year. But I dont think ive EVER been as pissed off at this team as I am right now.? The Rangers seemed to play as if defense was beneath them, and that a stiff upper lip is the way to take an elbow to the face.

SICKENING.

Rangers arent playing terribly, I just dont see….for lack of a better word, snarl.? They are letting the Islanders just walk all over them, and are bending over and gladly taking the reaming.? I dont like it, I dont care for it, and with the exception of Orts, Im shocked the Rangers are taking it like that.

Lets see some passion damn it!

First & Foremost-Islanders@Rangers First Period Thoughts…

Posted by inferno272 on January 9th, 2007

I probably should say “First & Only” really.? Rangers first line was downright dominant in the first period, and thats IT.? The rest of the team looked…..off.? Nobody stood out as exceptional, but nobody really stood out as putrid either.? They just were playing very lackadaisically.? And when you consider the Islanders have embarrassed us 3 out of 3 times this year, that is disheartening to say the least.

Unsure-Rangers@Canadiens Post Game Thoughts…

Posted by inferno272 on January 6th, 2007

I’ll be headed out shortly but wanted to make a quick post real quick.? We did NOT play well in this one.? We did NOT deserve the 2 points.? Had it not been for some truly pathetic goaltending by Abeschier the Rangers probably dont get much at all.? Not saying Abeschier was totally inept, but he certainly didnt missed 2 he probably should have had.? His glove hand is terribly weak, and the Straka goal he gave up is unforgivable.

Jaromir Jagr left the game with a groin problem, so its good we got the 2 points in that respect, but w/ Shanahan hurting and now Jagr injured, things dont look too good for the men in blue.

BTW, Fedor Tyutin might have had his worst game as a NY Ranger tonight.

Contagious?-Rangers@Canadiens Second Period Thoughts…

Posted by inferno272 on January 6th, 2007

I dont ever want to hear the flu being used as an excuse by the Rangers ever again.? They looked like the ones playing w/o their captain, and THEY are the ones who looked simply putrid in that second.

Im so disgusted with what I witnessed I better cool off, or else this blog may no longer be suitable for kids.

Tale Of Two Cities-Rangers@Canadiens First Period Thoughts…

Posted by inferno272 on January 6th, 2007

This ones gonna be short because its nearl 4pm and i havent eaten ANYTHING yet today.? The Habs forwards look a lot better, stronger, and faster than the Rangers forwards, but conversely (as strange as this sounds) the Canadiens D looks slow, soft, and passive, whereas the Rangers D (except Malik who looked atrocious out there) looks far more assertive, and agressive.

I also think the Rangers forwards coming back to help the D is a major factor in this, whereas the Canadien forwards seem to be cherry picking a bit more than the Rangers’.

Resolution-Flyers@Rangers Post Game Thoughts…

Say it with me folks…I will not try scoring goals as a goalie.? Got it?? Good, now please write a letter to Henrik saying that exact thing.

Man, that was SCARY.? despite getting a hat trick, and more or less dominating the Flyers for most of the game, the Rangers reverted back to their stupid, stupid, stupid play in the 3rd with terrible decision making, and some god awful blind passes (one by Malik was particularly scary, it actually connected perfectly with a Ranger player, but he had no way of knowing who was there, that pass could have just as easily been taken for a breakaway against)

Rangers still have some work to be done, and had this not been a terrible terrible Philly team, Im not so sure we win this.? PS, Jagr and Shanahan have had what….2 goals in their past 10 games or something…combined?!

Wow.

Diving Board-Flyers@Rangers Second Period Thoughts…

Posted by inferno272 on January 4th, 2007

I cant stand diving.? If youve paid attention at all to this blog, you know im dead serious.? Which is why if the Flyers scored on that dubious 2nd penalty to go on a 5 on 3, I was going to call shenanigans.? Luckily thanks to some solid positional penalty killing the Rangers minimized the scoring chances and managed to eek out of that period with a 2 goal lead.? The Flyers still stink, their just resorting to some poor gamesmanship to get themselves back in it.

Not much to say about that period that wasnt said in the first period thoughts.? Rangers playing well, Flyers are not, and thats that.

Standouts-Flyers@Rangers First Period Thoughts…

Posted by inferno272 on January 4th, 2007

The last half dozen or so games youve been hearing a lot of positives from me.? This theme will continue as I continue to see much better play from the good guys.? Three players in particular have impressed me as they have elevated their game considerably.? First and foremost was Petr Prucha who had a FANTASTIC first period, creating several scoring chances for himself, AND for his teammates, as well as showing us some flashes of skill that he has.? He still isnt taking the body like he did last year, but im not so sure thats a negative.? Rachunek has also improved his game tremendously.? Hes taken the body, been assertive with and without the puck, and seems a LOT more confident now that hes paired with Kaspar (surprising considering how much of a liability Kaspar can be at times).? Finally Rozsival, whom most of you know I have never been a fan of, has looked flat out GREAT the last half dozen or so games.? Hes been a notch better than Rachunek, and has shown a nasty streak, and the willingness to stick up for his teammates, and been a lot smarter with the penalties he takes.

On to the first period where the 3 standouts….well….stood out…. we flat out dominated the Flyers.? It wasnt even a close period despite the 1 goal differential.? The Flyers should feel very lucky to only be trailing by 1, as they look pretty well beatable.

Henrik coulda been laid out in a lawn chair as the bulk of the period was spent in the Flyers zone.? Expect more of the same, Rangers just look worlds better than the Flyers.? Thats not necessarily a compliment for our guys, but more of a put down on the Flyers….They stink.
