Who woulda thunk it aye?? For the second time this year Captain Cardboard (Marcel Hossa) gives the Rangers a huge extra point against a division rival.? I gotta admit that was a pretty slick move, he out-waited Brodeur and just shot it into the wide open space Brodeur gave him.? Still though, nyranger61494 over on the HF Boards summarized this game best by saying “We deserved that W” which I categorically agree with.? Rangers played very well, very smart hockey for a full 60 minutes.? They deserved a win, and they got it, so im happy.

Curious 3rd period, OT, and shootout though.? The 3rd was pretty much dominated by some brilliant, and highly disciplined play by the Rangers, except for a pretty tough couple of penalties that they took late in the game to let the Devils get a point.? Hey, were the Rangers, and it was a kid who took the penalty.? You know what, Ill live with it.? The kid (Thomas Pock) had a rock solid game up until that play, and while it was a disappointing penalty to take, he certainly made up for it with some solid play throughout the night.? OT was back and forth towards the beginning, but was absolutely dominated by the Rangers in the last 2 minutes or so in which Brodeur made some spectacular saves, and kept his team in it.? The shootout saw Henrik give up several goals, but somehow it looked like he was close to getting almost all of them.? The Rangers scored early and often against Brodeur but the play of the game goes to Henrik Lundqvist who saved the game with a mind blowing glove save (probably more luck than anything, but you gotta be there to be lucky) where he robbed Langenbrunner with a stretch glove save on the goal line.? Marcel Hossa then did his thing, and Henrik made the last save to give the Rangers a crucial 2 points, and a 2 game winning streak.

Ill say it one more time, this is a game we DESERVED to win. ? Notice the bold and italicized deserved there folks, because a lot of the games this year we didnt deserve the W, but not today, we worked our asses off, and played for the full game.

Kudos to the boys in blue, keep it up boys, thats 4 solid games in a row (2-2) for the Rangers in which they have only given up 6 goals.
