Turnovers cost rangers 2 points-thrashers@rangers post game thoughts

Posted by inferno272 on November 28th, 2006

Yet another one i’m not going to be too wordy with, as there really isnt much to talk about.

I’m going off of a faily poor memory here, but I believe all 5 (6?) goals of the Thrashers came directly off of the rush from offensive zone turnovers the Rangers had with 2 to 3 men caught deep.? Someone should double check this but I’m almost positive that is right.

Whats the problem? Blind passes to the middle, not getting the puck deep.? Its been that story all year long.

On the plus side, Rangers have picked up points in 5 straight games….if you want to look at it that way.

Henrik, who started off the game great ended horribly.? He gave up some awfully soft goals in the 3rd, and im fairly sure the non-goal at the end of the period was actually in.? It wasnt conclusive, which is why I knew it wasnt going to be called, but it looked in to me.? It looked like it hit the white area that braces the crossbar section of the net.? Im about 60% sure so even I wasnt positive, and Im an expert ;-)

I think this might be one of those, forget it and move on type games.

No more 3 stars of the game in games the rangers dont get 2 points in, its like rewarding someone for mediocrity.

spectacular plays-thrashers@rangers second period thoughts…

Wow, was that amazing or what?? You saw some really open ice spectacular plays both ways.? Its only a 1 goal game at this moment and I have to believe that there will be at least 2-3 more goals scored in the 3rd period between the 2 teams.? Its pretty wide open, and the goalies have been excellent despite the combined 5 goals given up.? Lehtonen had a much better period despite giving up 2 goals.? They really werent stopable, but hes made a half dozen spectacular saves already in that period so hes earned his stripes.?

? Henrik was great too, stopping a few doorstep chances, but the Hossa goal, while spectacular, was stopable.

Look for more of the same in the 3rd.

Trap City-thrashers@rangers first period thoughts

I was pretty bored during that period, I must admit.? Lots of neutral zone play, for a second I thought I was watching the Devils play the Devils.? Still though, a TERRIBLE goal given up by Lehtonen why made 2 amazing saved in the period gives the good guys the 1 goal lead.? Good for Hall, he needed one, and im happy he got it.

Lundqvist was the story though, he made some scratch your head and say how the f**k did he stop that, saves in the first period.? Henrik might be the hottest goalie in the league right now, he just looks spectacular.
