who needs ipecac?Sabres@Rangers post game thoughts

Posted by inferno272 on November 26th, 2006

The reffing in this game was beyond dreadful, it was BATANTLY one-sided.? Cullen, non call, Jagr, non call, Straka, non call, pick on Shanahan for the winning goal, non call.

Im going to do a bit of a recap later, possibly tomorrow as im just fuming right now and cant keep a straight chain of thought.

This is? 2 games in a row the Rangers have been shafted by the refs.? On the plus side, thats 7 points in 4 games, cant be too unhappy with that.

Jokes on us-sabres@rangers second period thoughts…

By “The Jokes On Us” I am implying that the reffing has been an absolute JOKE, and its been decidedly against us.? The Jagr play aside, the calls they made on us were VERY borderline, and Buffalo got away with a ton of that crap themselves, then Jagr gets tackled to the ice, about 3 feet from the ref, and they called nothing.? Be glad I cant post during the game, otherwise you would have heard a pretty vulgar tirade by yours truly.

The Rangers have taken 8, count em, 8 penalties through 2 period.? That is a sickening display of one-sided reffing coupled with undisciplined play.? The Sabres have taken less than half as many penalties, and NONE in the 2nd period.?

Henrik Lundqvist stood on his head, and if not for 2 absolutely terrible turnovers by Cullen and Bozolinsh, the Rangers might have a lead.

I can not stand one sided reffing, nor obvious miss calls.? Im not happy one bit right now, despite it only being a 1 goal defecit.

Trading Shots-Sabres@rangers first period thoughts…

Up and down, back and forth, lots of rushes, but not really much happening from them.? I think both teams played well once the other team penetrated their zone, but the Rangers were by far the more undisciplined team, getting away with several hooks.? Still though, to play the best team in the world to a draw after 20 isnt the worst thing in the world, despite Marcel Hossa being given a gift that he decided to return to sender.

Hossa had a WIDE open net, and just couldnt elevate the puck over the defenders stick to score the goal.? A sham too because it could have turned the tide in the game.? As it is, the Rangers werent awful out there, but they werent great either.? The Sabres just triple teamed Jagr everytime he had the puck, leaving Straka and Nylander basically uncontested.? Unfortunately the vying All-Stars couldnt do much of anything to make the Sabres think twice about this tactic.

Petr Prucha was all over the ice in that period, he looks to have some jump, he might net a goal in this one, keep your eyes out for it.
