Unfortunate Loss-Rangers@Canes Post Game Thoughts…

Posted by inferno272 on November 15th, 2006

I’m going to keep this one short and sweet ladies and gents.? The Rangers looked very much like a team who has had a very tough schedule, was on the 2nd game of a back to back, and was playing against the Stanley Cup Champs.

?

Rangers 3 Stars Of The Game:

1)Jaromir Jagr.? Great game by the captain, if not for some solid goaltending, he could have had several tonight.
2)Kevin Weekes.? Good game by Weekes, gave the Rangers every chance to win it.
3)Aaron Ward.? For the “Punch Check”

Strange Game-Rangers@Canes Second Period Thoughts…

Posted by inferno272 on November 15th, 2006

So the last period I really thought the Rangers carried the play, for the most part, and the Canes scored the lone goal.? This period I felt the Canes carried the play for the most part, and the Rangers scored the lone goal.? Should I cheer for the Canes to control the 3rd?

Anyways, the Rangers looked flat in the second, and really were saved by the goal post, some excellent goaltending, and some poor decisions by the Canes.?

Jaromir Jagr is on fire in this game.? The guy is a beast, I havent seen him play like this in a LONG time.? Easily the first star of this one, even if the Rangers lose.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct-Rangers@Canes First Period Thoughts…

Cole is the most unsportsmanlike player in the game right now. Every time he is near an enemy player, he dives. I saw it last year to the nth degree (before he was out with that injury) and i saw it again 3 friggin times including the bs penalty they called on malik (cole actually wrapped his hand around malik and took malik down). Cole should be suspended for all the crap he pulls. With that said I thought the Rangers played a pretty solid period AFTER they gave up the goal. Till then they were clearly sleepwalking. When you play against Carolina you are going to trade scoring chances, its just how they play, but you gotta convert.? The Rangers have had 4 or 5 glorious scoring chances (all but 1 were by Jagr) but have yet to convert.? I have no doubt the Rangers will get a few goals in this one, the question is how many do they keep out.
