You know, that wasnt too shabby.? Even if the Rangers didnt score the equalizer in that period I would call it a pretty good period.? Despite all the penalties, and a goal against (coincidentally caused by a turnover for the now redeemed Betts), the Blueshirts looked better, they didnt look lethargic, and their coverage in the zone was pretty good.? Weekes also had a pretty strong period as well.? The goal could have been stopped, but I wont hold it against him, Selannes got one of the best shots in the league.? To be fair though, the reffing appears to be consistent and even, or if anything tilted in our favor (hard to swallow considering the 4 penalties we took in the period aye?).?
Was anyone else chanting “don’t give it back, don’t give it back” the second Betts scored that? Then let out a groan when Hollweg took the pretty obvious penalty?? Good teams dont make plays like that, it gives your opponents chances to get back into it.? The good guys gotta get better w/ and w/o the puck in the minutes following a goal.
Still though, lots of things to be happy about, I expected us to be down 4 or 5 to 1 at this point, but there is still plenty of hockey to be played.
